Be interesting to see Bouchard play. Wasn’t sure they took the right defenceman when he was selected, thought Dobson might be the better choice.

I never understood how when Draisaitl plays with elite players like McDavid, but when Pastrnak plays with Bergeron and Marchand no one blinks an eye.

I've made this argument a number of times, but it really needs to be said more often.

I've been a Dobson > Bouchard guy since before that draft; I look forward to testing my assessment against reality.

Almost like it was an intentional joke at his own expense...

You're more of a "guaranteed win" kinda guy.

How is Bouchard slide eligible as a former CHLer playing in the AHL? He shouldn't be allowed to play in the AHL until he's 20, at which point his contract should kick in whether he plays in the NHL or not.

It has to do with the age you signed the ELC at from what I understand. It's one of those gaps in the CBA where someone born in the pre-year change portion of their draft year (September to December) can see their ELC slide in their first pro year if they signed their contract when they were 18 and they don't play more than 9 games total in the NHL (playoffs included, I think).

Or something like that.

I saw earlier that all of bear, Larsson and benning have not out any time in on the left side. So that brings the question for the sake of Bouchard’s development do you move benning to the left or do you try to keep your pairs as close to usual and put Bouchard on the left
